Tennis elbow, also called lateral epicondylalgia, is one of the most common overuse injuries to the elbow. It is an injury to an extensor muscle of the forearm; This muscle runs from the top of the wrist to the outside of the elbow. Tennis elbow commonly occurs with repetitive use of the wrist with activities such as using the computer (specifically the mouse), lifting heavy objects, turning the forearm palm up and palm down, and grasping.

Symptoms you may experience:
Tenderness on the outside of the elbow.
Weak and painful grip
Pain when extending the wrist and third finger
What a orthopedist can do for you:
Manual therapy, such as releasing the muscles of the forearm and articulating the joint to alleviate the injury.
Design a suitable home exercise program that specifically focuses on eccentric exercise of the wrist extensors.
Use modalities such as laser, ultrasound, and interferential current.
What to do at home:
Limiting the amount of repetitive use of the wrist and elbows will help with pain and healing. For example: use the mouse in the other hand and use your other arm instead of the injured arm for activities
Grip objects palm up instead of down
Stretch your extensor muscles by keeping your elbow straight and bending your palm down.
Ice the outside of your elbow for 5 minutes, being careful not to burn your skin. Like heat, you can burn your skin with ice!
